Words are powerful and their meaning form perceptions that shape our beliefs, drive our behavior, and in most cases, create our world. Their power arises from our emotional responses when we read, speak, or hear them.
Words are extremely powerful tools that we can use to uplift our personal energy and improve our lives, this is why we should be conscious of the words we speak, read, or expose our inner self to.
We understand that there are so many negativity around and once in a while, we might be moved to make negative pronouncements. But, we must always take caution, because what we say is a product of our thought and every negative thought would definitely shapen our view about life.
Well, that something looks realistically impossible, doesn't mean solution isn't near. Or that a problem looks unsolvable does not guarantee that it can't be solved. There's nothing new under the sun, they say, someone somewhere must have experienced what you're going through right now and found a solution, so why do you bring your self down with your own words? It's high time we learnt the art of positive pronouncement and say good things to ourselves always!
How do you learn the art of Positive pronouncement?
The first thing to watch out for is what you feed on.
Watch
what you feed on. What you feed on here is not the food you eat, rather it connotes the things we allow into our hearts. We should learn to filter information and determine what we give the permission or allow into our minds. Another way to feed rightly is to watch what you read. What news do you allow in to your mind. Is it the one that says things will keep getting worse ? or the word of God that says, I wish above all things that thou prospereth? Well, let me say this, the best book or news to read is the scriptures; go check it out. Note that what you read or listen to, is as important as what you say and vice verse.
Who do you listen to?
Who are your advisers? Who do you hang out with? Who are your friends? What are their believes? Who do you relate with and what do you discuss? Well, be watchful of people with a negative mindset. In fact, one should run away from people who see impossibility in almost everything. Find a way to avoid those that will tell you what you're doing right now can't work out, or those that would discourage you in any way.
See, the day you look at yourself and say and I can't do this, then you might not be able to do it. Or the day you say, I can't pass this exam! I can't get this promotion! This period is too difficult! I'm broke! Things are hard! Then, don't be surprised, if few years later, you find out things are really hard! It is not always village people oh! Sometimes, it's our own words, our own pronouncement and things we've said over time!
Words have so much weight that God created the whole universe with His words! The word is an egg if it falls on the outcrop of a stumbling tongue, It breaks ungatherably (Niyi Osundare, 2002)
So, no matter what, in whatever circumstances we find ourselves, we should always use words that edify, not only for ourselves, but for others also.
